Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Mentor LPG Storage Terminal Supervisor located in Mentor, Minnesota through August 22nd, 2026 at 11:59 PM (CT).
The Mentor LPG Storage Terminal Supervisor serves as the Plant Supervisor and is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and overall performance of the facility. In addition to providing day-to-day leadership, this role actively supports routine operations and maintenance activities alongside the field team.
The Supervisor serves as a key link between field operations, office planning, and departmental leadership to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution of work. This position provides technical guidance to Field Specialists, manages work execution through the maintenance management system, and supports both short- and long-term operational planning.
As a member of the leadership team, the Mentor LPG Storage Terminal Supervisor is accountable for performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP).
This position requires approximately 50% field time and 50% office time.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
• Provide frontline leadership for the Mentor LPG Storage Terminal, promoting Operational Excellence, regulatory compliance, and financial stewardship.
• Serve as the facility representative within the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), including responsibilities as the On-Scene Commander (OSC) during emergency situations.
• Support daily operations and maintenance activities to ensure safe execution of work and appropriate staffing levels.
• Manage railcar logistics and coordinate with rail carriers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to maintain operational schedules and resolve issues.
• Support forecasting and commercial activities by communicating facility capabilities, constraints, and planned maintenance outages.
• Develop and maintain relationships with trucking companies while ensuring compliance with Chevron standards and expectations.
• Maintain accurate inventory and volume tracking records and ensure regulatory documentation is complete and compliant.
• Manage departmental work through SAP, including work notification review, work order creation, assignment, prioritization, and readiness verification.
• Oversee both internally executed and contractor-performed work activities and verify quality through audits and field observations.
• Develop and coordinate weekly work schedules and monitor execution to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Provide technical guidance and field leadership to operations and maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate activities with internal departments and third-party contractors to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and safety expectations.
• Monitor operational and performance metrics and implement corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities through technical and operational expertise.
• Mentor, coach, and develop employees while supporting performance management processes.
• Lead or support Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and implementation of corrective actions.
• Provide operational support during resource constraints, emergency situations, or increased workload periods.
• Promote a strong safety culture by identifying, communicating, and addressing operational and safety concerns.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of industrial and/or oilfield experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering and business fundamentals, including Lean principles and tools.
• Strong knowledge of process flow diagrams, P&IDs, operating procedures, and operational standards.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating work and projects in an operational environment.
• Supervisory and/or team leadership experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, as well as safe work practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in LPG storage, terminal operations, midstream operations, or related energy infrastructure.
• Experience supporting rail and truck logistics operations.
• Experience leading maintenance and reliability activities in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience working with contractors and managing contractor work execution.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related discipline.
