Situated in the North Sea roughly 65 km off Bergen, Troll is Norway's largest gas field and one of the most significant in Europe, supplying a substantial share of the continent's gas demand since production began in 1996. Equinor operates the field from platforms including the towering Troll A, one of the tallest structures ever moved by humankind. A second major phase, Troll Phase 3, has extended the field's gas plateau well into the 2030s.
