Iron OreFifo8/69/5

Mount Tom Price was Rio Tinto's first iron ore mine in the Pilbara, opening in 1966 in the Hamersley Range near the town that takes its name. The open-pit operation produces around 28 million tonnes of ore annually, processed on site and railed to Dampier for export. About 1,500 employees live locally, and the site now hosts a large battery storage system supporting a shift toward renewable power for its operations.
