Iron OreFifo8/2 (weeks)

Simandou is a large-scale iron ore development in Guinea's Nzérékoré region, centred on the Simandou mountain range near Beyla, and is widely regarded as one of the most significant untapped high-grade iron ore deposits remaining in the world. Development is split between Rio Tinto's Simfer joint venture with Guinea's government and Chalco, and the separate Winning Consortium Simandou, together building roughly 600 kilometres of new rail line and port infrastructure across the country. First ore shipments began in late 2025, with the project ultimately targeting tens of millions of tonnes of annual capacity once fully ramped up.
