Red Chris

Red Chris is an open-pit copper-gold mine in the mineral-rich Golden Triangle of northwest British Columbia, near Iskut, in production since 2015 and run as a joint venture majority-held and operated by Newmont alongside Imperial Metals. Its reserves run to several million ounces of gold and close to a million tonnes of copper, underpinning plans for a large underground block-cave expansion that has recently cleared key regulatory approvals. The project is regarded as a potential multi-decade source of both copper and gold.
