NickelFifo14/14

Raglan is a remote, off-grid nickel-copper operation in Nunavik, northern Quebec, drawing on one of the richest nickel deposits known, mined through a cluster of underground workings that feed a single concentrator. Owned and run by Glencore since production began in 1997, the site employs close to 1,300 people, most on rotating fly-in schedules, and produces around 40,000 tonnes of nickel a year. Given its isolation it generates its own power, including from wind turbines, and functions much like a self-contained township with its own housing and airstrip.
