Liza (Stabroek Block)
Georgetown, offshore Demerara-Mahaica, GY
The Liza field sits within ExxonMobil's Stabroek Block, roughly 190 kilometres off Guyana's coast beyond Georgetown and the Demerara-Mahaica region, in water around 1,500 to 1,900 metres deep. First proven by the Liza-1 well in 2015, the discovery helped establish a block now estimated to hold close to 11 billion barrels of recoverable oil equivalent across dozens of finds. Production began in 2019 via the Liza Destiny floating vessel and expanded in 2022 with the Liza Unity, part of a growing fleet of floating production facilities each designed to handle well over 100,000 barrels a day.
