CopperResidential5/2

Cerro Verde is a large-scale copper and molybdenum mining complex roughly 30 kilometres from Arequipa in southern Peru, majority owned by Freeport-McMoRan alongside Sumitomo Metal Mining and Peruvian shareholders. Mining on the site dates back to Spanish-era workings and later Anaconda Copper operations, and a major 2015 expansion lifted output to around one billion pounds of copper a year, placing it among the world's top copper producers. Its ore reserves rank among the largest in Peru and globally.
