Block 6 (PDO)

Block 6 is the onshore concession in central Oman that anchors the operations of Petroleum Development Oman, the country's principal oil and gas producer, with Fahud in the Ad Dakhiliyah region long serving as a key operating base. PDO traces its roots to 1937, confirmed commercial oil in the area in the 1960s, and shipped its first export cargo in 1967. Today the company works across roughly a third of Oman's land area, running around 130 oil fields and numerous gas fields that together produce well over a million barrels of oil equivalent a day, backed by a workforce of thousands drawn from dozens of nationalities.
