Ahafo

Ahafo is Newmont's gold mining complex in Ghana's Ahafo region, centred on the town of Kenyasi, and ranks among the larger gold operations on the African continent. The open-pit operation has drawn on reserves estimated at around 17 million ounces of gold since production began in the mid-2000s. Newmont's investment in the site has made Ahafo a significant contributor to Ghana's gold output and a major source of local employment and regional procurement.
