Kinross Gold
Mine Training Coordinator
- Alaska, US
- via careers site
One of the highest-volume roles on any open-pit site: moving ore and waste between the pit, crusher and dump using large rigid or articulated haul trucks.
What it involves: Long shifts operating a single piece of equipment (often a CAT 793/797 or Komatsu 930E class truck), working to a dispatch system, and following strict traffic-management and fatigue rules.
Typical requirements: An HR (or equivalent heavy-vehicle) licence is the usual baseline; many employers run their own simulator-based training for candidates without direct haul-truck hours.
