Talison Lithium

Talison Lithium operates the Greenbushes mine in Western Australia, producing chemical-grade lithium concentrate alongside by-product tin and tantalum from one of the world's largest hard-rock lithium deposits. Following a $320 million expansion completed in 2019, the operation has a production capacity of 1.34 million tonnes per annum. Greenbushes has been mined continuously since 1888 — first for tin and tantalum, and for lithium since 1983 — making it the longest continuously operated mining area in Western Australia. The site runs on a residential workforce backed by a Perth-based corporate team, and Talison, a joint venture between Tianqi Lithium and Albemarle, states that safety is its core value.
