First Quantum Minerals

First Quantum Minerals is a Canadian-headquartered copper producer, ranked among the world's top ten, that also mines nickel with gold, zinc and cobalt as by-products. Founded in 1996, it operates across five continents, with major sites including Cobre Panamá, Zambia's Kansanshi, Sentinel and Enterprise operations, Ravensthorpe in Western Australia, and Guelb Moghrein in Mauritania, plus development projects in Argentina and Peru. The company employs roughly 14,500 people worldwide, produced about 396,000 tonnes of copper in 2025, and reports over 95% local hiring at its operations.
